Let's start this out with a little explanation. Unlike other websites or organizations that use the term, "Druid" in their title or description we are using it as a job title rather than a religion, church, or spirituality. Although to be sure those things are or can be closely related to the title, Druid. Between the dawn of time and when Christianity became the dominant religion in Europe generally and England, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland particularly, a Druid was a learned person - one who served as an advisor to chiefs, kings, and communities. These individuals also served in some sort of mediatory capacity between the gods and the people.
Thinking of Druids or Druidry as a religion or spiritual path is a relatively modern invention.I would submit that this is particularly true in North America and especially so in the United States.
For the purposes of this publication Druid is a title - a job. I am the Druid, and my community is rather undefined. My tradition would be Anglo-Saxon Druid. Needless to say, I won't be number 1 on President Biden or Mayor Scott's speed dial. Although if they call I will pick up the phone. So, what on earth then is a Hedge Druid?
For the sake of "I've already registered this domain name" we're going to stick with Hedge Druid for the time being. Eventually this I hope will change. And so it did. Our base TLD is galdorcraeft.
Rather than a one man show, we will grow into a pagan community. By that time I should have more "other directed" training/education. And this endevour will take on a less idosyncratic flavor.
